LA TRINIDAD, Benguet — Anti-illegal drugs operatives destroyed full-grown marijuana plants worth some PHP5 million in Tinglayan town in Kalinga province on June 19, the Police Regional Office (Procor) in Cordillera reported on Thursday.

The anti-drug operation was conducted by combined operatives from the Kalinga Provincial Police Office (PPO) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Cordillera.

In a report to Procor director Chief Supt. Rolando Nana, Senior Supt. Alfredo Dangani said the marijuana plantation had an estimated area of 2,550 square meters located in Barangay Loccong, Tinglayan, Kalinga.

The operatives destroyed a total of 19,450 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants and five kilograms of marijuana stalks with an estimated market value of PHP5.140 million.
