Magnitude 4 quake jolts parts of Ilocos Norte, Cagayan

LAOAG CITY — A magnitude 4.0 earthquake hit some parts of Ilocos Norte and Cagayan provinces at 2:22 p.m. Friday, state seismologists said.

With its epicenter located 6 km. northwest of Santa Praxedes, Cagayan, the quake was tectonic in origin with a depth of 10 km., the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

Intensity 2 was felt in the towns of Pasuquin and Bacarra and Intensity I in the neighboring town of Sinait, Ilocos Sur.
