ZAMBOANGA CITY — A total of 25 “tokhang” drug surrenderers have completed a community-based rehabilitation and treatment program initiated by the Police Regional Office 9 (Zamboanga) in this city.

Chief Insp. Helen Galvez, focal person of PRO-9 recovery and wellness program, said Friday those who completed the rehabilitation and treatment are the drug surrenderers within the area of jurisdiction of Police Station 4.

Galvez said they completed six mind module sessions of PRO-9’s Healing in Oneness through Policing Education (HOPE) recovery and wellness program.

She said the graduates successfully completed the community-based rehabilitation and treatment of HOPE recovery and wellness program, consisting of Mind Modules Facilitation of D.U.T.E.R.T.E Program.

Galvez said the mind module sessions included spiritual and moral formation, skills training and 296 hours community service.

The graduates will receive an NC1 certificate and a livelihood starter kit each from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). They will also be hired by Stone Rich Corp., a construction firm, she added.

The 25 drug surrenderers are part of the 9, 000 “tokhang” drug surrenderers in the region, who were given a series of intervention activities through the recovery and wellness program of PRO-9.

Held on Wednesday at the PRO-9’s multi-function hall in Camp Eduardo Batalla, this city, the graduation ceremony was witnessed by top officials of the police and concerned agencies of government, as well as religious groups. (PNA)
