Broadcaster arrested for illegal drugs

CAMP MACABULOS, Tarlac City — A broadcaster suspected to be involved in illegal drugs was arrested during a raid in his house in Barangay San Isidro, this city on Friday.

Senior Superintendent Ritchie Posadas, Tarlac police provincial director, identified the arrested drug suspect as Evangelino Dizon alias Jing Dizon, 56, resident of said barangay and broadcaster of dzTC and dzRH.

Posadas said the joint operatives of the Tarlac provincial investigation branch, Tarlac Drug Enforcement Unit and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 3 (PDEA3), were armed with search warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court branch 64 of Tarlac.

Recovered from the suspect’s possession were five sachets of suspected shabu; 12 medium- sized plastic sachets of suspected marijuana leaves; a caliber .38 cartridge; and a piece of caliber .22 cartridge.

The search and seizure was conducted in the presence of barangay officials, media and representatives of Department of Justice.

“The suspect was taken to Tarlac police investigation branch for further investigation,” Posadas said.

He added that Dizon is considered a high value target level 2 personality of the Tarlac police. (PNA)
