The distribution of the relief goods was spearheaded by PRC Governor and First District Rep. Celso Lobregat and Joseline Fernandez, the local PRC administrator.

The beneficiaries of the relief aid were the 22 families consisting of 230 dependents, who were displaced by the fire in Barangay San Jose Gusu.

Lobregat said the relief goods given to the fire victims, who are housed at the old barangay hall, included the following: mosquito nets; sleeping mats; blankets; personal hygiene kits; canned goods; and, rice. The children were also feted with ice cream.

Lobregat said Red Cross knows no boundaries in extending relief assistance to victims of all man-made or natural calamities in this city.

“Red Cross is always first, always ready and always there to help the people, that’s why we are here in San Jose Gusu on weekend to share assistance to the fire victims of this community,” he said.
