Rains to prevail in southern Luzon, Visayas

MANILA — Rains are expected in southern Luzon and Visayas on Tuesday due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

In its 4-p.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said the ITCZ would bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms in Metro Manila, CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon), Bicol region, Visayas, and the provinces of Aurora, Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon. The state weather bureau cautioned of possible flooding in low-lying areas.

Other areas will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms. PAGASA similarly cautioned of possible flash floods or landslides due to light to moderate with at times heavy rains.

The seaboards of northern and central Luzon will be slight to moderate due to light to moderate rains coming from the northeast to east.

Other parts of the country will have slight to moderate coastal waters caused by light to moderate winds blowing from the east.

PAGASA forecasts a temperature range of 15-34°C until Friday.

On Monday, PAGASA recorded a peak temperature of 32.7°C and a minimum temperature of 25.8°C. (Juzel Danganan/PNA)
