Minor, 2 others on ‘drug list’ nabbed in Sarangani

GENERAL SANTOS CITY–Anti-narcotics operatives arrested three alleged drug peddlers, including a minor, in an entrapment operation over the weekend in the coastal town of Glan in Sarangani Province.

Ma. Leslie Sharon Maquilang, acting regional director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Region 12, identified two of the suspects as Rabodin Mintao Sahak, 28, and Radz Andukan Sahak, 20, both residents of Barangay Baliton in Glan.

She said the third suspect was an alleged minor cohort of the two in the illegal drug trade in Glan and the neighboring areas.

The official said the three suspects were nabbed at around 4:30 p.m. Saturday in Purok Maglanab, Barangay Baliton after “conspiring to sell” a sachet of suspected metamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu worth PHP500 to an undercover agent who posed as a buyer.

In a subsequent search, she said the operating team recovered a small and a large plastic sachet containing suspected shabu weighing about 50 grams with a value of around PHP340,000.

The valuation was based on the reported prevailing street value of shabu in the area at PHP6,800 per gram.

Maquilang said Rabodin, who works as a driver of a motorcycle-for-hire or “habal-habal”, was the main target of the operation. Rabodin is listed as a “high-value target” along with his two other cohorts, both students.

“They were among the top target drug personalities in Glan based on the watch list of various agencies,” she said.

Maquilang said Rabodin and Sahak will be charged for violation of Sections 5 and 11 or possession and selling of dangerous drugs, under Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

She said they turned over the minor to the City Social Welfare and Development Office for custody. (Alejandro Saludo/PNA)
