SK chairman nabbed in Rizal buy-bust

MANILA — A 22-year old Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairman in Rizal is the latest village official to fall in the government’s campaign against illegal drugs and substances.

In a report to Police Regional Office 4-A (Calabarzon) director Chief Supt. Edward E. Carranza, Rizal Provincial Police director Senior Supt. Lou Frias Evangelista said Barangay Mag-Ampon SK Chairman Arvien Aguirre a.k.a. Kenneth was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Tanay town on Tuesday.

Acting on reports, the Tanay Municipal Police Station coordinated with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Authority (PDEA) in Calabarzon in conducting a buy-bust operation intended to arrest the suspect who is allegedly operating in the said community.

At around 6:15 p.m., the buy-bust operation was conducted, which resulted in Aguirre’s arrest after police a poseur buyer managed to purchase one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected “marijuana leaves” using marked money.

A subsequent search resulted in the recovery of six other pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected “marijuana leaves”.

The suspect was arrested and apprised of his constitutional rights and was brought to the Tanay Police Station together with the recovered pieces of evidence. (Benjamin Pulta/PNA)
