3 nabbed, P483-K worth of illegal drugs seized in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY — Operatives of police’s City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) arrested three suspects and seized PHP483,000 worth of illegal drugs in two buy-bust operations here on Tuesday, the Bacolod police reported.

Around 11:30 p.m., two street level targets were apprehended at Purok Seaside, Barangay Tangub after yielding PHP243,000 in “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) packed in six sachets.

The suspects were identified as Razzel Baguing, 38, and Reggie Pranisa, 42, both residents of the village.

Baguing sold a sachet of “shabu” for PHP1,000 to a police poseur-buyer while Pranisa was apprehended for conspiracy.

The inventory of the seized items conducted outside the house of Baguing was witnessed by village chief Noli Villarosa and councilman Rodolfo Montaño.

Around 1 a.m. Tuesday, the team from CDEU also arrested Aminola Cabugatan in a raid at J.R. Torres Subdivision in the adjacent Barangay Singcang-Airport.

Operatives recovered eight sachets of “shabu” weighing 25 grams worth PHP240,000 from the suspect.

Police said that Cabugatan, a newly-identified drug personality who allegedly sells ready-to-wear clothes as a front, is the cousin of high-value target Elias Cabugatan, who was arrested at Barangay Mandalagan last February with PHP300,000 worth of drugs.

Village chief Rosinie Distrito and councilman Edsel Talaban witnessed the inventory.

The three suspects face charges for violation of Sections 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and 11 (possession of dangerous drugs). (Nanette Guadalquiver/PNA)
