Chinese national nabbed for mauling Pinay

MANILA — The Makati police arrested Thursday a Chinese man for allegedly mauling a Filipina following a heated work-related argument.

In a report to the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), the Southern Police District identified the suspect as Yao Xu Dong, 28, and temporarily residing at GP1 Crown Tower, HV Dela Costa St., Salcedo Village, Makati City.

The complainant, Lucy Mae Clarianes, 23, a customer service representative, claimed that on Thursday morning, the suspect, who was an administrative staff of the human resources department, confronted her angrily, saying he will fire her from work.

At the height of their confrontation, the suspect mauled her, which resulted in injuries.

After reporting the incident to the barangay and a medical check-up at Ospital ng Makati (OSMAK), Clarianes returned to work but on her way back, she spotted the suspect near the gate of Barangay Bel-Air and sought assistance from Bantay Bayan.

This led to the arrest of the suspect.

The victim presented a medical certificate from OSMAK and the case was referred to the homicide section of the Makati Police for further investigation. (Benjamin Pulta/PNA)
