MANILA — Parts of Luzon and Western Visayas will experience scattered rain showers on Sunday due to southwest monsoon affecting the western part of these islands, state weather agency Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
Metro Manila, western Visayas, Mimaropa, Bataan, Zambales, Batangas and Cavite will be cloudy with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.
The rest of the country, on the other hand, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds will blow over Luzon and Western Visayas. Coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas.
Meanwhile, PAGASA is monitoring typhoon “Maria”, which was last located at 1,875 kilometers east of central Luzon, still outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
Maria has a maximum sustained winds of 185 kph and gustiness of up to 225 kph, heading northwest at 15 kph, PAGASA said. (Ma. Cristina Arayata/PNA)
