Cavite scholarship program opens online application this August

TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite – Cavite province will open the online registration/creation of scholarship account and submission of scholarship application for the first semester of school year 2018-2019 on August 6.

The registration and submission of application for the provincial scholarship program (PSP) is open to all residents in the collegiate level, especially for incoming 1st year college students.

The online registration ends Sept 5.

As announced on the PSP website, the program, which is implemented through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), “aims to academically equip financially incapable yet academically-qualified students”.

PSP Secretariat Chair Alvin S. Mojica said qualified scholars are assured of a financial subsidy “but must maintain a general average grade of 85, with no grade below 80 to be considered for admission”.

He said the grade average must be maintained to continue enjoying the program, which shall adopt a “one-family-one applicant policy”.

The total number of awardees shall be determined by the Scholarship Committee, subject to the fund allocation per year. (Gladys Pino/PNA)
