Guv suspends classes in northern Cagayan

TUGUEGARAO CITY — Classes were suspended in Cagayan on Tuesday even as Tropical  Depression “Henry” is about to leave the area after it made landfall Monday night in the northern part of the province and Batanes.

Cagayan Governor Manuel Mamba ordered the suspension as a precautionary measure, as rivers and low-lying areas in Cagayan have accumulated floodwaters brought about by the rains dumped by “Henry”.

However, Mamba clarified that suspension was only from pre-school to senior high school in the northern Cagayan area.

Northern Cagayan includes the municipalities starting from Gattaran up to Aparri, extending up to the northeastern and northwestern towns of the province.

The towns included are Lal-lo, Camalauigan, Buguey, Sta Teresita, Gonzaga, Santa Ana, Ballesteros, Lasam, Allacapan, Abulug, Pamplona, Sanchez Mira, Claveria and Sta. Praxedes.  (PR/PNA)
