3 bookstore thieves nabbed in Makati

MANILA — A woman and her two teenager cohorts were apprehended in Makati City after they were caught shoplifting colored pens and art chemicals worth PHP10,000 from a book store.

The suspect was identified as Alexis Alvarez, 22, a resident of Zone 68 Blk 15 Baseco Port Area, Barangay 649, Manila. She was accompanied by two minor children, aged 15 and 17 respectively, both from the same address.

A guard Ramil Bala of Glorietta Mall recognized the suspects, who had a record of the same offense at a nearby boutique.

The suspects were then arrested after they were caught taking several items and placed them inside a backpack while attempting to come out of the store without paying.

Recovered were four pieces of Hat Chemical worth PHPH399.75 a piece, 10 pieces of Faber Castell worth PHP749.75 each and four packs of Crayola colored pencils worth PHP320.75 a pack. (Benjamin Pulta/PNA)
