MANILA, July 24 — Rainshowers will prevail over Metro Manila on Monday (July 24), when President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is scheduled to deliver his second State of the Nation Address (SONA).
This is due to the southwest monsoon affecting the western section of Luzon and the Visayas, state weather agency Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
There is also a low pressure area (LPA) last spotted at 470 km east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar, it added.
Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms will prevail over the Visayas, Mimaropa, Bicol, Caraga, Soccsksargen, Davao, Zambales and Bataan.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with rainshowers or thunderstorms will be experienced over Metro Manila and the rest of the archipelago, noted PAGASA.
Meanwhile, moderate to occasionally strong winds will blow from southwest to southeast over the northern and western sections of Luzon, and from southwest to west over the eastern section of the Visayas and Mindanao.
Coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to occasionally rough.
Light to moderate winds will blow from southwest to southeast over the rest of Luzon, and from southwest to west over the rest of the country with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (Ma. Cristina C. Arayata/PNA)
