Light to heavy rain in some parts of PH Wednesday

MANILA—Southwest monsoon enhanced by the low pressure area (LPA) continues to affect Luzon, bringing light to heavy rain in some areas.

In its 4 a.m. update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geographical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the LPA was last observed at 725 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes.

Meanwhile, the two other weather systems affecting the southwest monsoon — severe tropical storm with the international name, “Leepi”, and tropical storm with international name, “Bebinca”, were observed at 1,160 kms. northeast of extreme northern Luzon and 945 kms. west of extreme northern Luzon, respectively.

Both “Leepi” and “Bebinca” are outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

The affected areas include the regions of Ilocos and Cordillera, Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands, Zambales and Bataan.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon would have cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorm.

These areas are warned of possible floods or landslides due to moderate or occasionally heavy rains or thunderstorms.

Temperature in Metro Manila ranges from 25-31 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City 25-32 degrees Celsius; Baguio City 16-19 degrees Celsius; Metro Cebu 26-33 degrees Celsius and Metro Davao 25-34 degrees Celsius. (Lily Ramos/PNA)
