1 dead, 11 hurt in Maguindanao road mishap

COTABATO CITY – An elderly woman died while 11 others were wounded when a wayward passenger vehicle hit them in front of a restaurant in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao on Tuesday.

Senior Inspector Jemar Delos Santos, Police Regional Office-Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao spokesperson, identified the fatality as Lambaina Dagandal, 61, of Barangay Tugal, Midsayap, North Cotabato.

Injured were Ismael Silo, Noraina Adam, Sahid Ambigan, Samela Agao, Mark Zacaria, Isdra Hololan, Noralyn Abo, Ismail Angintaopan, Musa Panayaman, Hamsur Manampan, and Baitolon Bansil.

The victims had just attended a wedding at the JP Restaurant in Barangay Rebuken, Sultan Kudarat and were on their way home when a Town Ace passenger vehicle plowed on them around 11:45 a.m.

The faulty vehicle also hit a pick up truck and a tricycle parked outside the restaurant.
