25 PRO-9 policemen get ‘Medalya ng Kagalingan’

ZAMBOANGA CITY--The Police Regional Office in Region 9 (PRO-9) has awarded Medalya ng Kagalingan (Medal of Merit) to 25 officers and personnel for their operational accomplishments against criminality.

Chief Supt. Billy Beltran, PRO-9 director, led the awarding ceremony held after the Flag Raising Ceremony in Camp Romeo Abendan, this city.

The Medalya ng Kagalingan awardees are Chief Insp. Oscar Buenaobra, Senior Insp. Nijam Salim, Senior Insp. Felixberto Lelina, Senior Insp. Roel Japay, Insp. Alexander Raupan, Insp. Richmond Candido, SPO3 Dexter Dalena, SPO1 Baden Beltran, PO2 Mc Stuart Balang, and PO1 Jason Ryan Penlaroche, all from the Zamboanga Del Sur Police Provincial Office and Regional Mobile Force Battalion-9.

They were awarded Medal of Merit for the arrest of Omar Marcial and Jehan Nalangan, listed as the Top 7 Most Wanted Person (Municipal level) and leader of a lawless group during law enforcement operation on July 29, 2018 in Lanao Del Norte and Tukuran, Zamboanga Del Sur, respectively.

Both Marcial and Nalangan were charged for the crime of murder, frustrated murder and kidnapping and serious of illegal detention.

Supt. Stephen Daang, SPO3 Aldrin Caballero, SPO3 Hermenigildo Elnas, PO3 Benjamin Buenaobra and PO2 Leodie Leal, all from Zamboanga Del Norte Police Provincial Office were awarded Medalya ng Kagalingan for the neutralization of notorious gun-for-hire personality or “contract killers” namely Abdurahman Tapsin on August 2, 2018 in Kalawit, Zamboanga Del Norte.

Supt. Flent Depnag, SPO2 Kemji Edao, PO2 Jaydee Sevillano, PO2 Gerome D Tare and PO1 Keymen Edao, all from the Zamboanga Del Sur Provincial Mobile Force Company were also awarded with Medalya ng Kagalingan for the neutralization of Maribel Berual and Bashir Alibasa, a high value target and member of notorious drug group on August 7, 2018 in Margosatubig, Zamboanga Del Sur.

Chief Insp. Jerry Alvarez, Insp. Basher Lutian, SPO1 Harry-Khan Alih, PO2 Al-Mojier Saydil and PO1 Nemitez Ventajar, all from Regional Mobile Force Battalion-9 were awarded Medalya ng Kagalingan for the successful arrest of two Abu Sayyaf bandits namely Majid Isnilon and Jamilul Nasalun on August 7, 2018 in Sacol Island, Zamboanga City.

Meanwhile, Supt. Lincoln Buklasan of PRO-9 Logistics Division was awarded the Medalya ng Kasanayan for the effective supervision, facilitation, smooth coordination which contributed to the successful implementation of five infrastructure projects funded by the Department of Public Works and Highway in the region.

Beltran praised the operating police units of PRO-9 “for a job well done,” adding the awardees have displayed exemplary meritorious devotion to duty worthy of praise and emulation. (Teofilo Garcia, Jr/PNA)
