PRRD commends success of 1st “Mister Earth CDO” pageant

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — President Rodrigo R. Duterte has congratulated the organizers of last month’s first “Mister Earth Cagayan de Oro” pageant for its success, hoping that they would remain tireless in their dedication and commitment for a shared cause.

In an official message to the pageant organizers, MEP CDO Organization, dated September 2018, Duterte commended them “for spearheading efforts when it comes to environmental rehabilitation and conservation, and for promoting volunteerism in your communities.”

“Mister Earth Philippines” is organized annually at the national level, but this was the first time that a Cagayan de Oro version was organized by MEP CDO Organization.

The pageant was participated in by young men who were advocates of the environment.

Ruben Niño Balane, on behalf of the organizers, said they were honored by the president’s commendation.

“This recognition from the highest government official gave us more strength to continue our advocacy and battle cry. We further strengthen our dedication and commitment to promote volunteerism among youth, environmental protection and create responsible young leaders in the future,” he said in a social media post along with the President’s message to their organization. (Nef Luczon/PNA)
