KIDAPAWAN CITY — The city government of Kidapawan has been cited again as one of the top 50 most competitive local government units (LGUs) by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) from among 122 component cities across the country.

Mayor Joseph Evangelista said the city was at 18th place from 122 cities surveyed by DTI based on government efficiency, economic dynamism, infrastructure and resiliency rankings.

“This is an improvement from last year’s ranking of Kidapawan City, which earned the 24th place,” Evangelista said on Friday.

From 122 component cities and municipal LGUs, Kidapawan City also ranked fourth in government efficiency, 35th in economic dynamism, 18th in infrastructure, and 34th in resiliency.

DTI also recognized the effort of the local government that led to more investments in the city known for its fruits and highlands.

According to the mayor, DTI acknowledged the efficient processing of business permits for investors, the living standards of its residents, high employment rate and improved local economy.

Evangelista said the recognition showed the city is improving in terms of economy, governance and infrastructure.

Evangelista is set to receive the National Competitive Index Award from DTI during the regional awarding ceremonies next month in Koronadal City. ( Edwin Fernandez/PNA)
