13 Soccsksargen cops get merit, commendation medals

GENERAL SANTOS CITY — Thirteen police officers in Region 12 or Soccsksargen have received merit and commendation medals in line with their operational accomplishments.

Chief Supt. Eliseo Rasco, regional director of the Police Regional Office-12, and members of the regional police command group conferred the awards in a simple ceremony on Monday at the PRO-12 headquarters in Barangay Tambler here.

Ten of them received the “Medalya ng Kagalingan” or medal of merit while three were awarded with the “Medalya ng Papuri” or commendation medal.

Supt. Aldrin Gonzales, PRO-12 public information officer, said the awardees belong to the operations police units in Sultan Kudarat province and Tantangan town in South Cotabato.

He said the 11 police officers were recognized for their recent successful buy-bust operations against street-level target suspects in Sultan Kudarat. They are SPO3 Arden Lanaza, SPO1 Dennis Sumoba, SPO1 Gerald Campos, SPO1 Eldrin Salarda, SPO1 Dominic Minaling, PO3 Hector Obach, PO3 Bryan Figuracion, PO3 Ernie Lagaña, PO3 Victor Rey Pagmonaja and PO2 Teddy Longno Jr.

Supt. Rito Sebuala, SPO1 Vincent Rebaula, and SPO1 Charles Wynn Flores were commended for the arrest of suspects charged with murder and frustrated murder last Sept. 6 in Tantangan town, Rasco said.

According to him, the conferment of the awards mainly aimed to recognize the accomplishments of police commissioned and non-commissioned officers in line with their mandates.

He said it was also intended to boost the morale of PRO-12 personnel and encourage them to perform better. (PNA)
