Govt vehicles ready to bring Marawi voters to voting centers

MANILA — Government vehicles will be available to ferry voters to voting stations for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections in Marawi City on Saturday,(September 22), the Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced on Friday.

Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez said fielding government service vehicles, in coordination with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), is to ensure that voters would be able to participate in the polls.

“This arrangement was entered into in order to ensure that voters will be able to cast their votes in the 22 September 2018 electoral exercise,” Jimenez added.

He assured that they are ready to hold the village and youth elections on September 22.

“The Comelec today also reported that all systems are go for the BSKE in Marawi, with security preparations in place and the electricity providers giving assurances of uninterrupted power for election day,” Jimenez said.
