PAGASA: ‘Habagat’ to bring heavy rains over Metro Manila, other parts of Luzon Friday

MANILA, Aug 4 — Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon may experience occasional heavy rains on Friday due to the southwest monsoon or ‘habagat’ affecting the western section of Luzon and Visayas, state weather agency Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and possible occasional heavy rains and gusty winds are expected over Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Mindoro and Palawan.

The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, moderate to occasionally strong winds blowing will blow from southwest over the northern and western sections of Luzon.

Coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to occasionally rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from south to southwest with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (Ma. Cristina C. Arayata/PNA)
