Ang to chair 44th Philippine Business Conference and Expo

MANILA – Tycoon Ramon Ang of San Miguel Corp. will be chairing the 44th Philippine Business Conference and Expo (PBCE), the annual two-day business summit of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), the group announced Monday.

This year’s PBCE is slated on Oct.18 to 19 at the Manila Hotel with the theme “Infrastructure and Digital Economy: The Game Changers”.

The country’s largest business organization is conducting this annual event to for the private sector to exchange ideas with policymakers on current issues and business opportunities.

PCCI said it is in the process of gathering recommendations from its members nationwide and come up with a PBC resolution that will be submitted to President Rodrigo Duterte.

Among the topics that will be tackled during the 44th PBCE are growth areas in the Philippines, opportunities for the country for the China-initiated Silk Road, infrastructure, energy, information and communications technology, and risks of trade war.

It will also discuss the fourth industrial revolution, disruptive technologies, agriculture, and the country’s economic partnership with Japan and the United States, the PCCI added. (Kris Crismundo/PNA)
