Middle East needs more female nurses

LAOAG CITY — Hospital employers from Saudi Arabia are looking for more female nurses to work in the Middle East.

According to Ann Marie Lizette Bitancor-Atuan of PESO-Ilocos Norte, a special recruitment activity was conducted on Monday afternoon for direct employers’ interview with applicants.

Through Skype set up at the Provincial Employment Service Office, employers of Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group (HMG) interviewed the applicants from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

After the interview, at least five applicants were hired on the spot. HMG is one of the largest healthcare providers in the Middle East with medical centers located in Riyadh, Qassim, Dubai, and Bahrain.

Atuan said the company offers “attractive salary packages with no placement fee or salary deduction for applicants with or without prometric.”

Prometric exam for nurses is equivalent to nursing licensing examination in the Philippines. (Leilanie Adriano/PNA)
