Palawan gov’t offers free legal clinic

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan — The provincial government of Palawan will offer next week a clinic that will provide free legal services to residents who are incapable of seeking the services of lawyers.

Lee Christine Eve Almira, Provincial Legal Office (PLO) senior administrative assistant, said residents can seek consultation about battery cases involving women and children, family law, real estate, divorce, unpaid salaries, accidents, and unpaid loans.

“Wala tayong limit, basta lahat ay ma-aasist natin dahil mayroon kaming bubuohin na mga volunteers at may mga abogado tayong mag-a-assist at libre ang legal consultation natin (We have no limit. We can assist everyone because we have volunteers and lawyers who will provide free legal consultation),” Almira said in an interview on Tuesday.

The free legal services will be offered under the offices of Governor Jose Alvarez and lawyer Gil Acosta Jr. at the Provincial Capitol from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Oct. 11.

These will be made available with the help of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office. (Celeste Anna Formoso/PNA)
