MANILA — Typhoon “Queenie” maintains its strength as it moves outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
In its 24-hour forecast Wednesday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that as of 3 a.m., the eye of “Queenie” was seen at 875 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes.
It is packing maximum winds of 250 kilometers per hour near (kph) the center, gustiness up to 245 kph and moving northwestward at 20 kph.
Central and Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao and Caraga will be cloudy with scattered rain showers and thunderstorm caused by the trough of “Queenie.”
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be cloudy with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorm. “Queenie” is expected to exit PAR on Friday.
