MANILA—Typhoon “Queenie” will continue to weaken and is on track to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Thursday evening or early Friday morning, the weather bureau said.
Queenie was last located 670 kilometers east, northeast of Basco, Batanes, with maximum winds of 150 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts of 185 kph, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
In its 24-hour forecast, PAGASA said central and eastern Visayas, northern Mindanao and Caraga will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorm caused by the trough of Queenie.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorm.
Sea travel will be risky in the northern and eastern Luzon seaboard due to strong gale force winds from northwest to southwest with rough to very rough coastal waters. ( Lily Ramos/PNA)
