CSC Western Visayas eyes computerized exam in November

Civil Service Commission Director IV Rodolfo Encajonado says the computerized examination maybe available in Western Visayas in November.

ILOILO CITY – The Civil Service Commission (CSC) in Western Visayas hopes to offer the computerized examination (COMEX) to interested examinees this November.

In an interview Monday, CSC Western Visayas Director IV Rodolfo Encajonado said the COMEX was stalled for a while due to connectivity problem with their central office.

The record area of the regional office also underwent repair, he added.

“Probably by November, we can already start,” he said, adding that they have been preparing for two years.

During the initial offering, Encajonado said they are planning to open 20 slots with one examination every week.

During the previous offering of the computerized examination, they offered daily examinations with morning and afternoon sessions.

“We have to check the connectivity, the number and the capacity of our central office. That has to be scheduled by our Examination Services Placement Office,” he added.

Payment for the COMEX is higher when compared to the paper and pencil rate of PHP500 per examination.

There is no limit as to the frequency of taking the examination but it should not be within three months from the last examination.

Encajonado added that taking the COMEX is faster because the result is released within the day. With the paper and pencil test, the examinee has to wait at least 45 days before the result is released.

COMEX is available for both professional and sub-professional exams. (Perla Lena/PNA)
