Pangasinan hosts Luzon cluster

SECOND MANGO STAKEHOLDERS FORUM SET IN LINGAYEN AUG. 11

The Second Regional Mango Stakeholders Forum aimed at crafting a 5-Year Road Map for the Philippine Mango Industry will be held in Lingayen, Pangasinan on Aug. 11.

The forum to be held at the Sison Gym in Lingayen will start at 8 a.m. and will be open to the industry stakeholders and mango farmers.

There is no registration fee and lunch annd snacks will be served.

The Mango Stakeholders Forum aims to discuss the problems confronting the Philippine Mango Industry which caused national production to plummet to a little over 800,000 metric tons from a high 1.4-million metric tons in previous years.

The third regional consultations will be held in Cebu City on Aug. 18 while the fourth will be in Iloilo City before the end of August.

The venue of the remaining two Stakeholders Forum will be announced later.

Mango farmers, contractors and processors are expected to attend the series of forum.

At the end of the regional consultations, the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF) will craft a 5-Year Road Map which is expected to bring back the Philippine Mango to its old glory, the reputation of being the best tasting Mango in the world.
