SSS reminds self-employed, voluntary members to pay using PRN

MANILA — The Social Security System (SSS) reminded self-employed and voluntary members to pay their monthly contributions using the Payment Reference Number (PRN) to ensure instantaneous posting to their accounts.

The SSS, in a statement Friday, clarified that it will only accept payments without PRN only on exceptional basis like in cases of members who have limited access to the internet.

Members paying without PRN will be asked to provide their mobile numbers for updating of their records in the agency’s database. SSS said it will then send their PRNs for the succeeding schedule of contribution payments to the mobile number they have registered.

SSS members can generate their PRNs in three ways: (1) thru their My.SSS online account found in the agency website, (2) thru the PRN inquiry facility of the collection partners of SSS, or (3) thru any of the SSS branches nationwide. Once paid using the PRN, contribution payments of the members will be posted instantaneously. They will also receive SMS notifications that their contributions have been posted.

Under the Real-Time Processing of Contributions (RTPC) program implemented in January this year, members’ contributions paid using the PRN are immediately posted, thus, allowing the members to avail of their benefits and privileges on time. (SSS PR/PNA)
