Roque still welcome to run under admin ticket: SAP Go

LEGAZPI CITY — Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go said Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque may still join the administration’s line-up if ever he decides to run for the Senate.

Go was here on Sunday for the launching of the first “Malasakit Center” in Region 5 at the Bicol Regional Teaching and Training Hospital.

President Duterte, he said, has the final decision on the fate of Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, whatever option the latter decides to take with regard his political plans.

He added that Malacañang has not yet received a resignation letter from Roque.

“I think Secretary Roque is still weighing his options whether to run for an elective post or remain in government,” Go said. “I am sure the President will respect whatever decision he makes, wala pang pagtatangal sa kanya (he has not yet been removed from his post).”

Roque, he said, has to decide fast as there are only three days left before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) ends the period of the filing of certificates of candidacy for the mid-term national and local election in May 2019.

Go led national and local officials here in launching the Malasakit Center, which brought to 15 the total number of such government facilities established across the country.

The center will serve as a “one-stop shop” where services of the Departments of Health  and Social Welfare, as well as of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) and Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp., (PAGCOR) are integrated for the convenience of the public. (Mar Serrano/PNA)
