12K vacancies up for grabs in 2-day Zambo Hermosa Jobs Fair

ZAMBOANGA CITY— Some 12,000 jobs will be up for grabs in the two-day Hermosa Jobs Fair from Friday until Saturday, October 20, in this city.

Maria Socorro Rojas, Public Employment Service Office (PESO) chief, said the Jobs Fair will be held at the East Wing of the KCC Mall de Zamboanga starting at 9 a.m. until in the afternoon.

Rojas, who is also the city social welfare and development officer, said of the total jobs that will be made available, 2,952 are for local employment while 9,560 are for placement abroad.

At least 50 placement agencies–35 local and 15 overseas–are expected to participate in the two-day activity, which forms part of the month-long Zamboanga Hermosa Festival.

The Jobs Fair is open to high school graduates, college graduates of any course, TESDA skills training graduates and other categories with ages 18 and above.

She advised the applicants to be in proper attire and to bring a resumé and other pertinent documents to present to the recruitment agencies.

Meanwhile, Rojas said TESDA will be offering free massage, beauty care, and haircut services as a side activity of the Jobs Fair.

She said the Social Security System (SSS), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (Philhealth) and PAG-IBIG fund will also provide registration services and updating of membership. (Teofilo Garcia, Jr/PNA)
