IMUS, Cavite – Pet lovers and their furry friends will take center stage in the annual “Petstival” here on Saturday, Oct 20, spearheaded by the City Veterinary Office, in cooperation with the City Tourism and Development Office.
The annual ‘Petstival’ is held to “not just spend quality, fun times with our furry friends but, at the same time, intensify the province-wide goal to be ‘Rabies Free’ by year 2020,” said city information and concurrent tourism chief, Edgardo ‘Jay’ Saquilayan, on Friday.
This year’s “Petstival,” which kicks off at 9 a.m., will showcase various pet health and grooming activities, K-9 and a variety of dog shows, free anti-rabies shots and pet blessing.
Owners and their pets will also embark on fun run of their choice – from the 1.5 kilometer, 3-km and 5-km categories. The “Petstival” culminates to an “after event” fun party until 9 p.m.
A running/jogging enthusiast, and a certified pet lover himself, City Mayor Emmanuel L. Maliksi with his loyal chow-chow female companion “Kira,” will lead city officials in the event’s opening. (Gladys Pino/PNA)
