Rains over parts of PH Saturday

MANILA — Some parts of the country will experience rains due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) affecting Mindanao, and the northeasterly surface windflow affecting northern Luzon, the weather bureau said Saturday.

Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela and Apayao will have cloudy skies with light rains, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its forecast.

The Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, Soccsksargen and Zamboanga Peninsula will likewise experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms, will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to localized thunderstorms,

Meanwhile, strong winds will blow over extreme northern Luzon, where coastal waters will be rough.

Moderate to strong winds will prevail over the eastern section of Luzon, and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate, with slight to moderate seas, the weather forecast said. (Ma. Cristina Arayata/PNA)
