11.8K families affected by ‘Rosita’

MANILA — Around 11,878 families or equivalent to 38,398 persons were affected by inclement weather caused by Typhoon Rosita, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said in its 6 a.m. update Wednesday.

The report, which was signed by NDRRMC executive director Ricardo Jalad, said the affected families are from 478 barangays in Regions 1, 2, 3 and the Cordillera Administrative Region.

Of the above-mentioned figure, 7, 263 families or 24, 447 persons are being served in 424 evacuation centers.

Also, a total of 25 road sections and five bridges were reported affected in Region 2 and the CAR.

The NDRRMC also reported that a total of 8,864 families or 32,519 persons were preemptively evacuated in Regions 1,2, 3 and the CAR.(Priam Nepomuceno/PNA)
