PRO-9 awards merit medal to 2 officers, 4 personnel

ZAMBOANGA CITY –– The Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) on Monday awarded the “Medalya ng Kagalingan (PNP Merit Medal)” to two of its officers and four personnel for their “laudable operational accomplishment.”

Chief Supt. Emmanuel Luis Licup, PRO-9 director, led the awarding of medals after the Monday flag raising ceremony at Camp Col. Romeo Abendan that houses the PRO-9 headquarters in Barangay Mercedes, this city.

Awarded the Medalya ng Kagalingan were Supt. Edilberto Alvarez, PO2 Alfredo Gangoso and PO3 Had-Marwan Edding, all from the Police Station 11 of the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO).

They were recognized for the arrest of drug suspects Nidzma Sapinding Juani and Alyaser Halahim Juani during a buy-bust operation on September 3 in Barangay Tetuan, this city.

The other awardees were Chief Insp. Roldan Molate, SPO1 Paul Antonie Deiparine, and SPO1 Vincent Jasma, all from the municipal police station of Labason, Zamboanga Del Norte.

They were given recognition for the arrest of Madjuni Esmael Tarang, Labason’s Top 3 Most Wanted Person, in a law enforcement operation on October 3, 2018 in Sitio Bucana, Barangay Osukan, Labason.

Licup said the awardees brought honor and prestige to the police organization and that they are worthy of praise and emulation by their peers.
