COTABATO CITY — Some 400 scholars of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in North Cotabato received on Friday their National Certificates (NC-2), making them highly-skilled and competent workers.

The students graduated from the Special Training for Employment Program during a simple program held at the amphitheater of the Kidapawan City Central Pilot School.

The office of second district Rep. Nancy Catamco allocated PHP5-million for the scholarship program of poor but deserving students, many of whom are already married and have families to feed.

Scholars were trained on bartending, carpentry, dressmaking, massage therapy, security guards, among others.

“Make use of what you have learned from TESDA, that is your ticket to employment,” Catamco said.

Aside from the NC-2 certificates, the students went home with starter kits from Catamco for them to begin legitimate livelihood.
