CIDG gets new chief; 4 other PNP execs reshuffled

MANILA — The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has a new head as the Philippine National Police (PNP) implemented another reshuffle of police officials.

In an order dated Nov. 16 which took effect Tuesday, PNP chief, Director General Oscar Albayalde designated Chief Supt. Amador Corpus as new CIDG head.

Corpus, who was previously director of the Police Regional Office-3 (PRO-3), replaces Director Roel Obusan, who retired from the service on Tuesday.

Corpus is a member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Sinagtala Class ‘86 and a “mistah” of retired PNP chief Ronald Dela Rosa.

Corpus served 17 years of his career in Central Luzon and was provincial director of the Tarlac Police Provincial Office in 2010 before he was assigned as PRO-3 Deputy Regional Director for Operations.

Meanwhile, Chief Supt. Joel Napoleon Coronel will take over the helm of the PRO-3.

Chief Supt. Dennis Basngi, who is currently heading the Special Action Force, will replace Coronel as Deputy Regional Director for Administration of the National Capital Region Police Office.

Replacing Basngi is Senior Supt. Manuel Abu, who was previously assigned at the Directorate Human Resource Doctrine Office (DHRDO) while Senior Supt. Adolfo Bailaon Samala Jr., was designated at the DHRDO from the Police Regional Office 1.
