U.S President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday (US time) that he dissolved two business advisory committees which are under the Top American corporate executives.

This happened after his argument that both white supremacists and counter-protesters were accountable for the deadly violence erupted last week in Charlottesville, Virginia.

At least ten of 37 members of president’s Strategic and Policy Forum and Manufacturing Jobs Initiative councils declared that they were resigning from the council because of the US President’s comment in connection with the Virginia attack.

“As C.E.O. of Merck and as a matter of personal conscience, I feel a responsibility to take a stand against extremism,” according to Merck CEO Kenneth Frazier who resigned on Monday.

On the contrary, the former CEO of CKE Restaurants, Andrew  Puzder emphasized CEOs should not give up their seat at the table, saying it was a way to influence policy for the better.

“Rather than putting pressure on the businesspeople … I am ending both. Thank you all!” he said. He also stated that the quitting panels could be easily replaced with more corporate chieftains and even named them as “Grandstanders” on his tweet right after their resignations. | (Tina Joyce Laceda – PTV)
