DAVAO CITY – The Department of Agriculture (DA)-11 on Wednesday rolled out its Agribusiness Support for Promotion and Investment in Regional Exposition (ASPIRE) program to intensify its marketing services in Davao Region.

Marila Corpuz, DA-11 technical director for operations, said ASPIRE intends to cater to a wide range of farmer clientele throughout the region with a goal to inculcate an entrepreneurial mindset so as to increase their farm incomes.

The program is a partnership between DA and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (PCCII) all aiming to establish marketing networks that are accessible to the farmers.

Speaking during the launching held in Abreeza Ayala Mal, Corpuz underscored the need to improve productivity and income for the farmers through market assistance and promotion.

“ASPIRE showcases, promotes and links the best and finest products of our farmers in the region in local and international markets,” she said.

She added that through ASPIRE, the DA can continue to expand markets for farmers and small medium enterprises, as well as strengthen partnerships among various stakeholders in the region.

The three-day ASPIRE activity includes trade fair and lecture, sessions on market matching, and network building.
