MANILA — GenSan set two Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League single-game records in a 116-72 crushing of Pasig at the New Lamitan City Gymnasium on Saturday night.

Leomar Losentes dropped the league’s first-ever 40-point game for a player, while the Warriors’ 44-point rout eclipsing the Bataan Risers’ 101-68 domination at the Quezon City Capitals on Aug. 8 as the most lopsided win of the season.

Losentes was already feeling it as early as the first quarter, going 6-for-6 from deep for 21 of GenSan’s 35 total points in the said period.

Despite Losentes sitting out the second quarter, the other Warriors stepped up in keeping the Pirates at bay.

GenSan eventually pulled the rug on Pasig in the second half, limiting its opponent to just 29 points in the final 20 minutes as Losentes continued on his scoring ways to eventually eclipse Michael Juico and Jong Baloria’s shared record of 35 points with a 41-point bomb on 17-of-27 shooting.

Juico also had one rebound and three assists without a turnover.

Delmar Mahaling added a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds with one steal as the Warriors moved to sixth place in the Southern Division at 7-7.

Boyet Bautista made 14 points on 4-of-9 shooting down three-point land to lead the Pirates, who fell to 2-12.
