LUCENA CITY, Quezon – A Department of Education (DepEd) regional official on Tuesday urged Quezon youngsters to hone their skills, talents and knowledge, love of country and become part of the country’s new breed of assets.

DepEd Regional Director Dr. Diosdado San Antonio addressed more than 3,000 teachers from the province’s four districts, as guest of honor and speaker at the First Quezon Province Private School Educators Convention at the Quezon Convention Center here.

Also gracing the occasion were Quezon Governor David C. Suarez, ALONA Partylist Rep. Anna Marie Villaraza-Suarez and scores of government officials and employees.

San Antonio underscored the need to strengthen the social foundation of the community through partnerships and collaboration among private and public institutions and government agencies.

“Congratulations! for staging this first-ever convention of private schools. I know that if we continue to work together, and listen to each other, we’ll be able to find ways of collaborating in making sure that every youngster here in Quezon will become assets of the country,” San Antonio said.

He also congratulated DepED-Quezon for bagging the most outstanding school’s division in the Calabarzon Region during the recent “Gawad Patnugot 2018” award of excellence.

“We dream of Filipinos who passionately love the Republic of the Philippines and only Filipinos who are lovers of the country will make our nation great again,” the DepEd regional director said.

He also lauded educational programs under the administration of Gov. David C. Suarez, which have been supported by House Minority Floor Leader and Quezon Rep. Danilo Suarez, former Congresswoman Aleta Suarez and ALONA partylist Rep. Anna Marie V. Suarez.
