NOVELETA, Cavite — Mayor Dino Reyes Chua on Monday rallied townsfolk here to sustain the collaborative partnership among residents and the health care workers after bagging the award as Top Performing Local Government Unit (LGU) in health services in Calabarzon (Region 4-A).

Reyes with Municipal Health Officer Dr. Maria Hilda Bucu received the award from the Department of Health (DOH) Calabarzon Regional Office for its Rural Health Unit (RHU) achievement during the recognition ceremony at the New World Manila Bay Hotel last December 14.

“Let us continue to work hand in hand and work hard para sa mamamayan ng Noveleta (for the Noveleta constituents),” Chua told townsfolk.

In an interview with the Philippine News Agency, Chua expressed elation for the town’s first award under the health services category. The award carries a symbolic check worth PHP50,000 besides the plaque of distinction.

Noveleta was cited for its “Doc to Door” program, massive health care programs such as the rounds of medical mission that provides access to local government health services among residents in the town’s 16 barangays.

The regional health office awards Local Government Unit (LGU) through the Scorecard and Monitoring and Evaluation for Equity and Effectiveness (ME3) in its health programs.

The LGU Scorecard is a performance assessment of the combined efforts of stakeholders within the province-wide health system, including clients and public-private health services providers in municipalities, cities and provinces.
