MANILA — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has ruled on some 70 cases of senatorial bets in the May 13 midterm polls, its spokesperson James Jimenez said Tuesday.

Jimenez, however, clarified that not all decisions involved disqualification.

“Vast majority of those cases were ruled for disqualification,” he said, adding that he cannot release the names as of the moment.

“(I) can’t give names and actual figures yet,” Jimenez said.

A total of 152 individuals filed in October 2018 their respective Certificates of Candidacy for this year’s midterm elections.

Earlier, Jimenez said they have not released the final names of candidates for the forthcoming polls as they are still resolving the petitions filed before them.
