The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Philippine National Police (PNP) are prepared for the distribution of the second tranche of the government’s Social Amelioration Program.
Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rolando Bautista asked President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday for help from the AFP and PNP to administer the payout of the SAP aid since it will not be given to the Local Government Units (LGUs).
According to PNP Spokesperson Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac, the PNP Finance Service will be tasked in the SAP distribution and that they have already spoken with the DSWD.
Meanwhile, AFP Chief of Staff Felimon Santos Jr. wishes to focus on the aid distribution at far-flung areas. He stated that there will be no problems in deployment since their troops are already designated in different parts of the Philippines.
