Aftershocks from magnitude 7.0 Abra quake near 5-K

Aftershocks from the magnitude 7.0 Abra quake last July 27, neared 5,000, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported Wednesday, Aug. 24.

As of 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, state volcanologists recorded a total of 4,916 tremors.

Phivolcs also plotted a total of 1,222 quakes.

Of the number, only 71 were felt.

The quakes ranged from magnitudes 1.4 to 5.1.
