AICS gets add’l P2-B budget to benefit more individuals in crisis

The Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is set to benefit more individuals and families recovering from the impacts of crises through its approved additional funding of P2 billion.

The DSWD expressed its gratitude to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and to the Department of Budget and Management for the approval of the release of the Special Allotment Release Order.

The additional funding will contribute to the benefit of clients amid soaring prices of commodities and services, as well as help more individuals in crisis in availing of the different packages of services under the AICS.

The DSWD has already issued updated guidelines on the implementation of AICS.

Memorandum Circular No. 15 streamlines the implementing procedure and simplifies the eligibility forms and documentary requirements and the corresponding approving authorities at the Central Office and Field and Satellite Offices.

AICS is one of the programs and services under the Protective Services Program of the DSWD, which provides financial and material assistance, psychosocial support, and referral services to indigents or in crisis individuals and their families, as assessed by the social workers. (DSWD)
