Alleged food poisoning downs 32 pupils in Benguet

BAGUIO CITY-– At least 32 pupils of Natubleng Elementary School in Atok, Benguet were rushed to the medical facilities in the area for suspected food poisoning.

Initial information received from Criselda Maestre of the Public Information Office of the Police Regional Office Cordillera (Procor) said that the students experienced vomiting and stomach pains about 20 minutes after eating the candies distributed by two Korean nationals.

The incident happened around 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday (June 27) at the said school.

Maestre said the two Korean nationals were brought to the custody of Buguias police station for investigation.

The children, however, remain under observation after receiving medical attention. (Dionisio Dennis, Jr./PNA)
