Amihan, thunderstorms to bring cloudy skies, rains

Portions of northern Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon or ‘amihan’ on Wednesday, Dec. 14, the state weather bureau said.

In its weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Cagayan Valley and Aurora will have cloudy skies with rains that may cause possible flash floods or landslides.

Ilocos Region and the Cordillera Administrative Region will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country may experience cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) and localized thunderstorms, with the likelihood of flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

A gale warning is in effect over seaboards of Batanes, Cagayan, Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Aurora, northern Quezon, and the northern and eastern coasts of Polillo Islands. – gb
